It’s that time of year when lot of spooky fun places appear all over the Second Life Grid. This being the first of however many I get around to visiting and writing about. This location is also a store hunt setting, although I didn’t participate in that, I’m here for the Spooky! I’ve pictured a few of the areas in this place, but there’s plenty more to be seen.

Real Steampunk

I’m breaking from my norm today and including some Real Life in my post. Last weekend I was at a Steampunk Festival, a real one, near where I live. It was the first time there’s been one near me, so it’s the first one I’ve attended too, it was amazing.

People went to so much effort with their costumes and some fun entertainment. I only attended for one afternoon but there was events running the whole weekend, so next year I’ll be attending more.

(Yes, that is a lifesize Dalek and a TARDIS in the corner!)

In Second Life meanwhile the steampunk themed Engine Room event had opened the day before. So inspired from the Festival I went on a shopping spree and put together this outfit to put myself virtually into the header photo of the actual event.

The Time Machine

Relaxing in the balcony lounge of the Old Caladar club she ponders on recent events. There’s been a lot of visitors in outlandish or just plain strange garb lately in the City. Not that she can talk, her attire for attending the club tonight was perhaps better suited to a performer than an customer, but the management didn’t object so long as she kept buying drinks. She wonders where all these strangers come from and where they go to afterwards, not many of them seem dressed for travelling a great distance. Has some mad professor actually managed to make some kind of time travel device? Maybe it’s not so reliable, since the visitors have been seen to vanish into thin air, as if sucked out of existence..or back to their own time perhaps?
